The Challenge
Emma and David wanted to extend their kitchen and install a high-end German kitchen. They had already chosen their kitchen supplier and needed a builder who could coordinate with them professionally. The existing kitchen was cramped, poorly laid out, and the rear wall showed signs of movement. They wanted the extension to create a 6m x 4m open-plan kitchen-diner.
Our Approach
We attended the kitchen supplier's site survey and reviewed their plans. We identified that the rear wall movement was due to inadequate foundations on the original extension from the 1980s. We recommended underpinning before building the new extension. We coordinated with the kitchen fitters, completing all first-fix work before their installation, then returning for second-fix electrics and final finishes. We maintained daily communication with both the client and the kitchen supplier to ensure seamless coordination.

The Outcome
6m x 4m single-storey extension with bi-fold doors. High-end kitchen installation coordinated perfectly. Underpinning resolved the structural issues permanently. Client now has the entertaining space they wanted. Kitchen supplier commented it was the smoothest installation they had experienced with a builder.
